Service Description

About The Course: Course materials will be released October 21st. Participants will have the week to complete the online modules and materials prior to the required interactive virtual classroom sessions. The six required interactive virtual classroom sessions will begin the following week on Tuesdays (Oct 28, Nov 4, 12*, 18, 25 & Dec 2 from 0900-1200 PST, 1200-1500 EST) *NOTE: Wednesday, Nov 12th session in lieu of Remembrance Day holiday. This Online Pediatric Sexual Assault Forensic/Nurse Examiner (SAFE/SANE) course will prepare the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, and/or Registered Nurse with the theoretical knowledge to practice as a SAFE/SANE. This 6-Week, 14 module virtual course curriculum includes: Foundational concepts of forensic health science Application of best practice to provide specialized care to children and families Comprehensive medical forensic examination training Legal considerations Multi-disciplinary team coordination Professional resilience Weekly Interactive workshops led by SANE-P Certified Forensic Healthcare Specialists with current practice and expertise in the field. This course has met the criteria set forth by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC COA) and has been approved for 45 contact hours. CFHC is recognized by the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) as receiving the IAFN SANE Seal of Approval designating that the course meets the 2020 IAFN SANE Education Guidelines.
